Our mission

Independent verification you can trust

Check Your Testing exists because the supplement industry has a transparency problem. We built the infrastructure to fix it — rigorous lab testing, public results, and a verification seal that actually means something.

Why we built this

Billions of dollars are spent on dietary supplements every year, yet independent studies consistently show that a significant percentage of products fail to meet their label claims — or contain contaminants not listed on the label. Consumers deserve better. Brands that do the right thing deserve to stand out. CYT was founded to create a trusted, public record of what's actually in the products people take every day.

The verification process

How CYT accreditation works

01

Brand submission

Brands submit their products along with existing third-party lab results, or opt into our coordinated testing program where we arrange testing through an accredited lab.

02

Lab selection & testing

All testing is conducted by ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratories. We maintain a panel of approved labs and rotate assignments to prevent conflicts of interest.

03

Scientific review

Our in-house scientific team reviews all lab results against label claims, safety thresholds, and current regulatory standards before any verification decision is made.

04

Public results

Verified products receive the CYT seal and their full lab results are published publicly — every test, every number, every pass or fail.

05

Annual renewal

Verification is not permanent. Products are re-tested annually and the CYT seal is revoked if a product fails to maintain its standards.

Testing standards

What we test for

Potency & label accuracy

We verify that the active ingredients listed on the label are present at the claimed amounts, within a ±5% tolerance for most nutrients.

Heavy metal contamination

All products are screened for lead, mercury, arsenic, and cadmium against USP and California Prop 65 limits.

Microbial safety

Testing includes total aerobic plate count, yeast and mold, E. coli, Salmonella, and Staphylococcus aureus per USP <2021> and <2022> standards.

Pesticide residues

Botanical and herbal products are screened for pesticide residues using multi-residue panels covering 200+ compounds.

Species identity

Botanical ingredients are verified by DNA barcoding to confirm species identity and detect substitution or adulteration.

Adulterants & undeclared ingredients

Products are screened for undeclared pharmaceutical compounds, stimulants, and other adulterants using HPLC-MS/MS methods.

Our approved laboratory partners

All CYT testing is conducted exclusively through ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratories. We work with a rotating panel of independent labs to ensure objectivity.
